There is one skill that I would really like to focus on in particular though, and that is creativity. Here, I would like to present you with 5 games that I have played, in which I can explain how creativity is relevant within them based off of my own experiences.
If you have any games that you think are pretty creative, let me know in the comments! I would love to hear about them!
This one is first for countless reasons in which I could probably go on for hours about! Haha! Minecraft; probably one of the most creative games to ever be developed. Incredibly simple, yet has the ability to be complex, this game is fit for everyone.
I myself play this game "religiously" and can say I have built my fair share of structures, including the image to the right. I have been involved with this game for 4 years now, and I have watched it evolve. If you are heavily involved with this game yourself, then you should know what I'm talking about.
This game allows you to do virtually anything you want with it... literally. If you are a developer, you can modify the game down to its core, or even create custom plugins for the thousands upon thousands of servers out there. Most of which teach people about business, leadership, marketing, etc.
If you are someone like me, and like to create things, you can create whatever floats around in that silly mind of yours. With the use of plugins like Voxelsniper and world edit, you can take your skills to the next level and create massive landscapes and structures.
If your a tech savvy genius, you can even go out of the game with third party programs like McEdit, World Painter, and World Machine to work on even bigger projects that literally blow you off this earth.
This game has grown so much that it was even bought out by Microsoft for two and a half billion dollars. Talk about a value proposition. This game is beyond creative.
2. Little Big Planet
The Little Big Planet series is another game that really promotes creativity in the fullest. With a beautifully designed story mode, and an in-depth sandbox mode, this game allows the community to really take charge.
With everything un-lockable in story mode, you can collect stickers, materials, and avatar components like clothes and skins. The materials and sticks that you collect can then be used in the level making mode to create elaborate platform stories, movies, or even mini-games.
This platforming game is perfect for multiplayer as you can hook up with four players whether it be online or at home, and play away through hours of user created content.
There isn't any game like it, and is definitely worth a try.
3. Portal 2
Portal is a game that is heavily puzzle-based, but in such a way that you really have to think outside of the box. Talk about creative thinking. With stunningly realistic graphics and intense puzzles, your mind will be second guessing if its reality or not.
I haven't played this game enough to fully understand its full potential, but even by playing it for a few hours at a friends, I can't tell you how awesome it was.
All of these games are forever going to be classics because they just aren't like any game out there. This one is recognized for its amazing compressed journey of evolution.
Starting out as a simple cell, you feed on prey and grow. You grow enough, and you eventually get your first pair of legs and venture out of the ocean, on to land! From there, you continue to evolve and become civilized eventually going into the space age and exploring the Milky Way Galaxy.
Along with this comes extreme character customization, as well as the ability to make your own buildings and vehicles. The creative aspect in this game is quite interesting and definitely something worth looking into. You can create some pretty weird looking creatures...
5. Roller Coaster Tycoon
If you haven't even heard of this one, not even once in your life, then I'm not totally sure how you found this blog. Either way, this game is a forever classic.
This is one of the most intuitive tycoon games with a fully customizable landscape, countless scenarios, a fully featured sandbox mode, and awesome roller coaster creating functions. This game will really help you improve both creative functions in twisty situations, as well as creative business situations.
